Since Disney bought Lucasfilms and set off to create a new trilogy of films, one of the questions that has been on the minds of many fanboy/girls was if Boba Fett actually survived the Sarlacc Pitt at the end of ‘Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi’. The infamous bounty hunter took a pretty nasty fall into the Pit of Carkoon due to a lucky hit from Han Solo. Recently Jonathan Rinzler (Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Riddle of the Black Cat) a Star Wars scholar and Lucasfilm historian was asked on his Reddit AMA if Fett actually survived his fall into the Sarlacc.

“Yes, he does. I have been in meetings with George [Lucas] where he confirms that Fett survived. If it comes from George then it’s true.”

Now that’s some pretty exciting news. And with an upcoming Boba Fett spin off film in the works and the new episodes on our way, one wonders if the bounty hunter will be appearing in the new trilogy. There has already been rumored sightings of the character’s helmet already. So…fingers crossed fellow Fandalorians!
