Dan Mindel Joins as Cinematographer for ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’
As we move closer and closer to the eventual start date of the production of ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’. Fans are eager to find out more about the upcoming new trilogy of films. According to BobaFettFanClub, we find out that Dan Mindel (The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Savages) will be joining the project as cinematographer and that he’ll be shooting Episode VII on 35mm film.
Mindel has served on the new ‘Star Trek’ films with J.J. Abrams (Lost and Super 8) as well as ‘Mission: Impossible III’. With the team up of Abrams and Mindel it’s most likely that we’ll be getting a very different look in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. Personally I think it’s quite exciting to see that they’ll be bring ‘Star Wars’ back to their roots. During ‘Attack of the Clones’ and ‘Revenge of the Sith’ George Lucas (American Graffiti and THX 1138) switched to digital and I got to say…the results were less than stellar. As development continues hopefully we’ll be hearing more news in the coming days. ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ is expected to open in theaters in 2015.
